If you enjoy golf, there are over a dozen courses within a short drive. And the Atlantic Ocean beaches are only 45 minutes away.
Oriental, known as the "Sailing Capitol of North Carolina", is about 25 miles further down Hwy 55 in Pamlico County. With a population of 875, and 2,700 boats, you might guess correctly that many people from this, and adjoining states, make Oriental their weekend and holiday destination. Good food, art galleries, unique shops and regular annual events make this a wonderful place to relax or play.
